I haven't seen any mention of this, but I noticed tonight that Safari seems quite a bit faster at rendering "pinch zooms" lately. It must be a 2.2.1 thing. This site in particular is blazing fast when double-tapping in to the little green "take me to the latest post" icon.

I know people don't get excited about x.x.x releases, but this is the sort of thing I really appreciate.

I don't know about that, but I did notice after the Houston area "cellular Data blackout" on last Monday, the maps were really fast loading. Zooming, panning, searching were all way faster. I haven't even upgraded yet either.

Everything seemed the same to me, but I really haven't looked at "pinch zoom" stuff closely yet. I hope it is true, I do appreciate any little upgrade. I suppose every little upgrade probably helps with memory usage and battery life in the end if it is actually an upgrade.

It seems the same to me, certainly less Safari crashes since the lame firmware upgrade. Its better then before, so its good.

I don't know when it happened, exactly, but I can say for certain that Safari didn't always zoom this fast. I'm usually anal-retentive about these sorts of things, so I can't imagine it's been that way for long.

I think its much more noticeable on text only websites. The sites with pictures don't zoom much faster.
