Yes, it's everyone's favorite lag n@zi back with a survey of folks who have jailbroken their 2.2 phones already.

Basically, I'm looking for any and all reports of lag. How long does it take to open things? If possible, please test near a clock with a ticking second hand and literally count how many seconds it takes to open. If possible, it would be best to do these tests several hours after a reboot, as things always seem faster right after doing that.

Specifically, I'm curious how long it takes to open these apps:

1. Camera
2. SMS
3. Calendar
4. iPod
5. Settings

I do not want to jailbreak again unless I know that the lag will not come back. Yes, it is that important to me. Thanks for any input...

Are you speaking from experience? I'm sorry I seem like such such a stickler for this stuff, but it really is the most important thing to me. I also know I'm a lot more sensitive to lag than most, because I still know people that claim they never had lag with a 2.1 jailbreak. I can't believe that is possible...

I am not getting lag after installing a keyboard, winterboard theme, even SMS theme. I am irritated though by Cydia crashing everytime after I install something.

yes, i've been using it the last hour or so. The worst lag i see is Camera takes 3 seconds to open its aperture. Everything else has been great.

This is with Winterboard installed, btw.

Oh, and i've installed about 6 things so far without Cydia crashing at all.

So I'm back and quite pleased. Boot times are considerably faster (45 seconds vs. 60 on 2.1) and I don't detect any lag anywhere. Now it finally feels like a holy grail. Always felt like a compromise before (except 1.1.4 ziPhoned).

To jailbreaking! Hoozah!

I'm joining you guys In a sec. My nephew plucked half the keys from my notebook earlier tonight.

Argh the joys of the terrible twos

Cydia still crashing some but can't get Customize to stay open at all:(.
Everything else is great.
I can no longer live without Catagories! I don't know why there isn't an app like this in the App store.

Apple must have really cleaned up shop with 2.2 for everything to be running so harmoniously. Even once jailbroken with background processes running. Everything is just smooth smooth smooth.

You have to hand it to them. They know how to keep things efficient. I'm with hippo: the path is laid for some truly new features now!

I'm glad everything is going well. I'll have to jb tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it.
