Is there any version of the 3G phone (2.2.1 or 2.2 etc) that cannot be jailbroken and unlocked?

I though certain bootloader versions could not be hacked?

There are iPhone 3G's that cannot be unlocked. Straight from an iClarified guide linked in a sticky in this forum:

Before you can follow these instructions you must have a jailbroken iPhone and you must be on the 02.28.00 baseband (modem firmware). This means that you must be running the 2.2 firmware or have used PwnageTool(NOT QUICKPWN) to install 2.2.1 without upgrading the baseband.

This is how you find out what baseband you have.

This is what I thought. Thanks for the information!

Hope others see this information before they list their 3G on Ebay...otherwise the sale may come back to haunt.
