3G third party adapter

since the iPhone is not supported with 3.5G at the moment!
perhaps there will be a accessory like 3G modem connected separetely!
will this be possible?

I've actually never thought of this.....very interesting idea.

I'd rather have slow sleeps than carry a 3g adapter with me... thats just silly.

Won't happen. You need the 3G chipset to get 3G speeds. Adapter can't go around the processing power of the phone.

how about like the usb 3G adaptor? just need the special driver or application for iPhone?

Some people have already bought mobile hotspots for their car. For example, one popular unit allows you to use Verizon EVDO 3G and share it via WiFi. Your iPhone carpool buddies will love it.

I proposed a while back that perhaps something similar could be set up using a 3G Windows Mobile or Linux handheld. Set up a webserver on it with your favorite static iPhone web Applets. Point iPhone Safari at it over WiFi and off you go.
