So I got the new 3.0 update today, and to say I am not that impressed. I might be willing to pay the huge fee to get the new iPone, but should I do it? please help me I want people to tell me the major info on whether to get it or not. I just feel like it might be a waste of money. please let me know thanks.

I will be impressed if you pay the unsubsidized no-commitment 32GB iPhone 3G S for $599. It sounds like you really want it. I don't think it's worth it, but maybe it will impress you more than 3.0.

The new phone is faster, adds voice control, a better camera, and a few other neat things. It still runs the 3.0 software. I don't know if I would pay the full price for it though. I had a hard time swallowing the 399 I paid.

It's very much a decision based on individual needs and wants. Is a 32 GB iPhone a hugh benefit for you? You gotta have the 3G S. Would video be a big lifestyle/entertainment enhancement? You gotta have the 3G S then. Everybody's big ticket uses of the iPhone varies.

I don't really watch movies on my 8GB V1 iPhone, but I'd love a 32GB phone to put my 17GB music collection on. And you know there's going to be awesome apps being developed that take up a lot of room. Even though my area still doesn't have 3G service, I'm very tempted to plunk down $299 for a 3G S phone and I probably would, but the one thing that's stopped me is the increase in monthly charges that would amount to $180 additional bucks a year. I just have a hard time stomaching that without actually having 3G service. (But you're already paying that and probably enjoying the benefits of 3G.) Besides that, I'm pretty much lusting on the new phone.

So, see what I mean, everyone's story is a bit different.

i think you should wait till 2011 for the 4G phones to come out.......nobody know if the 3Gs is faster, thay don't have it yet....nobody can even get a confirmation if the new processor is faster or if its the same as the 3G.....id say wait till at least next year by then they may have a whole new redesign

well I mean I love having the best technology right away I don't think waiting will be the best option. I just wanna eather be talked out of this phone and be satisfied by mine or find a way to lower my price.

If you don't like 3.0 you won't like it, it isn't impressive at all, save your money.

It really is up to you if you think it's worth it or not to pay all of that money to upgrade to 3GS.

I'm on the fence about it myself. While the 3GS would be nice to have, I don't think it's worth it to me to spend all of that money just to get voice control- which is the only feature I really want.

Personally, I am underwhelmed with 3.0. IMO it's pretty lame.

wait til next year, when there's a chance of 4G, a chance of it being on Verizon's network, a chance of a redesign... and a chance that if you buy it now, you'll be right back at the drawing board, scrambling to make a decision on whether you want to pay and opt of your contract, or drop another $499 or $599 (unsubsidized price) for the newly designed iPhone.. because you WILL NOT be eligible for an upgrade if you cop this one, on Friday...

decisions decisions

The only thing that could make me upset next year is if it is on Verizon. However, if Verizon hand-cuffs them they way they do every other phone company, that would suck.

If it is still on exclusivity with AT&T, I'll sell my 3GS and get the 4G or whatever is coming out. If not, I'll have to tough it out a year and then sign with Verizon in 2011.

Really, the 3G S is unimpressive, just like 3.0, go get yourself a pre and clog up sprint's network.

3GS may be "unimpressive" if you have a 3G, but the speed upgrade from a v1 user is blindsiding.

I am extremely excited about the 3G S, and did not find 3.0 unimpressive. I'm being sarcastic with the poster. 100 new features (at least 10 or 12 they will actually use) that Apple did not have to give them at all and it's unimpressive

My main thing is the 256 ram because at 128 I get down below 5 and it starts crawling! With the extra 128 that should never happen. I agree that 3.0 brings a lot of useful functions that made my day. CC&P are awesome.
