I'm starting a new thread on this to accompany and complement my existing rumor thread since it's now fact.

When installing, uncheck the box to avoid installing the Chinese pirate store. You can remove it via Cydia, but why go through the trouble?

The Pangu jailbreak for 7.1.1 has been released.

If you're already jailbroken on an older firmware, I would recommend not using this tool until it is thoroughly tested.

"You plug in your device, uncheck the box in PanGu (otherwise you get a Chinese pirate app), click the other button, wait for the PanGu app to appear on your springboard, click it, then just wait."

Looks pretty good so far on my iPad 3.

I'm working on a list of apps and tweaks that appear to work fully with the new jailbreak:

    Action Menu
    Barrel
    FolderCloser
    HiddenSettings7
    iCleaner Pro
    Iconoclasm
    iFile
    Infinidock
    JellyLock7
    MultiIconMover+
    SwitchSpring
    BetterNC7
    Bigify+
    HomescreenDesigner
iLEX R.A.T. (iOS 7) the specialist beta
    Mobile Terminal
    MxTube
    Nitrous
    NoAnnoyance
    QuickClear
    SafariDownloadEnabler (still testing)
    SwipeSelectionPro
    StatusHud2

Very interesting. Obviously many of us were not expecting any jailbreak to be released until iOS 8. If this is as easy as it sounds and most tweaks/themes that many of us use are still in working condition, then I may do it.

As someone told me, the directions are hard to follow. After looking at them, they are confusing to me. :p

It's Windows-only at this time, but it does work with Parallels. I'm waiting for the Mac version since I don't have a PC or Parallels.

That's the downfall of not having a Windows computer. I remember when known legit jailbreaks came out that were known to work perfectly, but I would be very upset having to wait for the Mac version. Haha. :p

Correct, but Musclenerd and Saurik have basically signed off on it.

I didn't want to wait for the Mac version any longer, so I borrowed a PC. My dad switched to Macs several years ago, but he still has an old XP machine so I updated it to SP3, installed iTunes and jailbroke with Pangu. Thanks @Napoleon PhoneApart for your help with the problem I encountered. You're a genius! (y)

It's so nice to be jailbroken again after three months of being stock. Hiding the icon labels and making that stupid dock transparent are two of my simple pleasures in life.

I'm jailbroken on 7.0.6 and very hesitant to update and than jailbreak with this. I have all Macs but have access to a PC with WinXP. It would be nice if evasi0n now comes out with their own. What is the chance that this will happen? Should I wait to see what happens with iOS 8? Or, should I just dive in and get my feet wet again?

I may wait until after iOS 8 is released and see if the current jailbreak will work then. I'm shocked to see one now as iOS 8 may possibly not allow it to work. The usual people who release jailbreak programs I read were going to wait until after iOS 8 and the iPhone 6.

If you're happy on 7.0.6, stay there. iOS 7.0.x was too unstable for me to stay put so I updated to 7.1 when it came out.

@Napoleon PhoneApart did you update and use the new tool "just because" or were you unhappy for some reason with the 7.0.x jb? I know you did your stock iPad, and why not, just curious why you went through the trouble on your 5s. Except for a rare safe mode crash, I'm so happy with my 7.0.x jb that I will probably wait until iOS 8 is broken.

I did it because it was there.
