I loaded a bunch of songs from my computer and tried to add songs from my roommates computer which erased all the current music. Is there anyway to avoid that?

I believe if you just check "Manually Manage" it will give you the "This iPhone was synced with another computer, you must erase..." BS message.

The only way I found to be able to add songs from two computers to the same iPhone is to hack the library ID number stored in

C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl

and

C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml

You need to set the library ID to the same for both computers.

The XML file has the hex library ID, and you will need a hex editor to edit the idl file which is binary. The library ID is in hex near the beginning of the idl file.
