Do both the computer and the printer have to be running to print with AirPrint or do some printers just need to be on.

I believe if the printer is AirPrint capable, only the printer needs to be on.

The computer does not need to be on if you have an AirPrint-enabled printer. If you don't have one of the supported printers, and you're using an app such as AirPrint Activator to enable it, the computer will need to be on.
