I bought an iPhone 3G off of ebay and have been using it unlocked via turbosim with t-mobile for a few months. When my T-Mobile contract ends in February, I'd like to switch over to ATT so I can get visual voicemail, 3g internet, and also not have to worry about firmware/unlock issues.

My question is, if I already own an iPhone 3g, will I be forced to sign a contract with ATT to get their service, or will I just get the standard plan no strings attached? Additionally, will I have to pass a credit check even though I'm not signing a contract? Thanks for the info :).

Yes they are going to make you sign a 2 year contract i believe and anytime you sign up for service with AT&T they will run a credit check
