Apple only allows their own "Dynamic" wallpapers. And they do use a bit more battery than stills. But about the same as like the animated weather app.

You have to jailbreak to do this. I use WeatherBoard (Cydia) to apply custom weather patterns to my landscapes wallpapers.

Am on 8.1.2 firmware and i guess after reading all forums, am thinking to jailbreak but is it safe and malware free ? Also would like to tell you my iphone 5S is under warranty. Would it get void if i do so ? Or should i try it on ipad2 first ? Am on firmware 6 at the moment.

1. Yes. It's safe as long as you don't install pirated software or repos and unclick the box for the TaiG App Store when you run the jailbreak.
2. No. It will not void the warranty. Just restore to factory settings before taking it in to Apple for warranty work if you even need to take it in.
3. That's not necessary. Just jailbreak whichever devices you want jailbroken.

Thanks a ton. Can anyone tell me step-by-step procedure to jailbreak ?
