as others have already deduced, it seems that the "other" in our phones is now some kind of virtual memory dedicated to the OS (maybe it was before, but it is definitely larger), and seems to be contributing to greater stability... most notably while using memory-intensive apps like Safari and iPod.

so after a little while to get used to 1.1.3, i'm just curious to see what your experience has been...

It's definitely more stable, but not perfect. I still get the occasional crash following links from Digg or Reddit. Strangely, when it does crash, it's often after the page has loaded, and I'm just navigating and zooming around. It seems graphics formatted a certain way mess it up somehow.

I also seem to get more crashes at work, where I'm on the outskirts of a Wifi connection that gets unusably weak in certain positions (we don't have wifi, but a neighbor does). Switching to edge in those instances seems to help.

Overall much more stable, though.

i noticed that once today as well... can't remember which site i was viewing, though... probably this one.

i still have the non-responsive hyperlinks bug happen once in a while too.

still a lot better, though.

my safari has crashed twice since the update (both while on myspace)

so pretty similar to what it used to be...

safari has been crashing a bit more often for me since the 1.1.3 update, and it's a little disappointing - i wouldn't say it's been more stable than 1.1.2 for me at all. but it's still more reliable overall than my treo and other smartphones i've had (except my blackberry)...

I had a catostrophic crash lastnight in Safari 1.1.3. It dumped me into recovery mode and I had to use Independence to get it back to normal. I just upgraded to 1.1.3 after that, and redid the whole JB process hoping it would bring greater stability.

We'll see how this goes. Also your post doesn't specify if theres stability improvements for 1.1.3 stock or jbed.

I've only had 3 or 4 safari crashes since the update, and 2 of them were caused by TUAW, which, before they added their webclip custom icon, my iPhone seemed not to like. This is a lot less asa pose to the 7-10 I had on 1.1.2.
