Are you kidding?

Apple offered you a product for a certain price. You purchased it. They then lowered the price. End of story.

You really expect to petition Apple and get some money back? They don't care if they alienate you; they already have your money. No different than any other consumer electronics company.

Furthermore, can't we just have one master "cry me a river" thread instead of ten?

I feel your pain. I once ordered a Whopper with Cheese for $1.49 then the very next day they dropped the price to $.99 and I was LIVID. I immediately puked up my burger and demanded a refund, then I bought my $.99 burger and had a great meal and for $.50 cents less.

Where do these companies get off?

I got my iPhone on launch day, and as much as this blows, we're not seeing that money.

Get angry, then get over it.

It burns, I know.

I know, people crack me up.

I bought my Moto Q for full price when it first came out. A few months later they drastically dropped the price. Was I pissed? No. I knew if I waited there would be a price drop, there always is. But I wanted it right then and there.

Can any of you name a phone that hasn't had a price drop? No, you can't.

Exactly. This reminds me of the old RAZR days :laugh2: Oh well, here we go again I guess.

For the crybabies out there, don't drip tears on your iPhone unless it's protected.

Over it...

Alright, I think I'm mostly over it. The initial shock was pretty bad though. I wouldn't be mad if I got the phone on iDay, but 17 days later stings a little worse. Oh well, I guess I can afford to get my wife one now.

Bought the iPhone on the first weekend. It's been a great time having it over the last couple of months. Very happy with it. The cut in price is normal and driven by businesss. That's how you grow your market share.

If you bought in the last week or so I'd have some feeling for those folks. But they can probably return it pay a restocking fee and get a new one for less.

If you can't afford to be one of the early adopters on a product then stay out of the game. In the real world, prices fall as volume increases.

Look if that basic economic structure eludes you, complain to Shrillary and your socialists candidates. They can't fix it (like government in most things) but they will listen to you and tell you how correct you are for feeling oppressed.

And then they will take Apple's $$$ political donations and laugh at you later.
Lowering price is one way to increase market share...this method is usually employed well into the products life cycle - not after two months.

What is the deal w/ bringing your political views into this? Since you did, let's just have Shrub and Cheney put Apple on the list of Evil-doers and bomb them off the face of the Earth?

I'm kind of pissed because I could've saved $100+ not owe my dad $100 but eh wahtever there's not much I can do and complaining isn't gonna help. But I understand if you bought it 3 weeks ago, that would be really annoying. 2weeks I'm sure you can return and pay the restocking fee and get a new one.

I'm actually relived by the new ipods. I expected iPhone without the phone, but I thought it would be like 80gigs at least for the largest model. I have no regrets of waiting for the ipod instead of the iPhone, -8gigs but +phone seems worth it to me.

And the iTunes mobile store looks really cool. So does the starbucks thing but I don't live by any of those big cities so I guess I'll have to wait until 2009 to try that out.

People have every right to feel shafted here. Show some maturity, dude and please, stop being an apologist for Apple. They are squarely pushing out value in lieu of 'the quick buck'.

I'm still waiting for one of these complainers to give me a list of phones (or any consumer product for that matter) that hasn't had a price drop.
