If you plan to buy one now, those iPhones are definitely gonna be 1.1.1

I live in Orange County, CA

yeah i noticed that yesterday when i unlocked my iPhone. but i had no problems downgrading to 1.02 and fully unlocking the phone.
For real? so your iPhone is stock 1.1.1, and you downgraded to 1.0.2 and unlock it?

As of right now, I know a lot of people CAN downgrade there 1.1.1 to 1.0.2, but the baseband/modem still at 04.18.08, so they CANNOT unlock it..

If you sure did, could you please tell me how to? Did you downgrade baseband/modem version as well? I so want to unlock it..

SORRY for the newb ?, but what does "unlocking" the phone do/allow?, i have a 1.0.2 which i upgraded to 1.1.1 (before i knew about apptap), then restored to 1.0.2, but yes i still has the 04.01.13_G baseband. what does this mean as a user?

If it has that baseband then the phone cannot currently be SIM unlocked - aka unlocked to any Mobile Phone Network (for now ;) )

So if I'm using ATT/Cingular, then it doesn't matter if I can't get the phone "unlocked"?

npe, if your in the US on AT&T/Cingular then you have no problems :laugh2:

1.1.1 has been jailbroken now anyway with most 3rd party apps working!
