My iPhone 5 hasn't seen any changes in battery life during the transitions from iOS 7 through the current iOS 8.1 version.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

Have noticed that my 5S was very laggy since updating and I switched my time to 24-hour format and know the performance is much snappier. Any body else any similar issues with their phone slowing down after the update?

I would not think the new iPhones would have this problem. I would like to hear from anyone with a 5. My Wife's 5c seems to be OK.

My 5 really sucks now but it's 2 years old. I take it off the charger around 8:30 and by noon I'm lucky if I'm above 60% with medium use. I charge probably 2-3 times a day.

Switch to a direct USB connection (no USB hub) with an official Apple cable if you aren't already using one and press the restore button in iTunes. You can use your backup when it's done restoring.

Thanks M. Did all of the above. Just discovered that my ISP decided to do maintenance on the system tonight from midnight to 6 AM and shut off the Internet (and phone) for part of town. I am hot enough to .. Whatever. Still have a phone that should have had an easy upgrade and now may have to restore.

My 8.1 upgrade went smoothly, but my 8.0.2 upgrade didn't. I got an error message and had to restore and then apply a backup. I was back up and running a couple hours later.
