    Hello,
My friend bought iphone 4S yesterday and he created an apple ID after punching his credit card details. Am surprised why is it not free of charge ? I had created an apple ID 2 years back but i never paid a single penny.

I have never seen an Apple ID charge and I have just recently moved my father over to a 5s.

Apple ID accounts are free. He will not be charged. It was a temporary hold, usually for just $1, to verify that the account is active. Once confirmed, the hold will be cancelled. On the off chance that the charge does go through, he can use the "Report a Problem" link in iTunes to get the charge refunded.

Is this something new? I've never heard of this or had a temp charge hold.

At the moment, an email would have to do. It is very hard to get connected to anybody via phone.

Try Europa's suggestion. If that does not work, send iTunes an email. They're great at replying and helping resolve issues. iTunesStoreSupport@apple.com

Also iTunes Store support via phone. They aren't hard to get connected to right now like the Apple store is.

That too. But I don't hear well and have to use earbuds to hear on the iPhone. Androids seem to have better volume. Or my wife's little LG Enlighten did.
