When they say "ships next week" on the new iPads, I wonder if that means ships Monday, or ships Friday?

I see nothing that would make me want to upgrade from my Air. I might get my wife the Mini Retina from last year. She is currently using an iPad 2.

I'll be handing down my Air and ordering an Air 2.

They didn't say when it would be available in store though. I'd rather just pick one up in store as opposed to ordering online..

What are the upgrades to the mini 3?

I just ran through the hardware specs on the mini 2 and new mini 3 and the only differences I'm seeing are Touch ID, gold and an option for 128 GB. That's it as far as hardware goes?

I thought it was an upgraded A8 processor as well, known as the A8X.

It was my understanding last year that the iPad Mini with Retina Display was the same as the iPad Air, just in a smaller package. I think the same thing has happened this year, i.e., the iPad Mini 3 has the same guts as the iPad Air 2.

Nope. Just the iPad Air 2 got that. According to Apple's website, the mini 2 and 3 both have an A7.

Does it not have the A8 Processor? I was disappointed there was no upgrade to the camera. Not that I would use the camera that much, but it is nice as a backup. I will sit out this upgrade.

Got my iPad Air on the AT&T Next "program" last year. Going by the AT&T store tomorrow to see how it all works. That is, turning in my iPad for the new model and continuing with the same monthly payments. With the price of the 128GB having been lowered, what are the odds of my payment going down? The only change I will make is changing from Space Grey to Gold, for no particular reason. I expect this to take a couple of weeks, minimum.

You are correct. I guess if you want to use Apple Pay with your tablet you can go this route. I really see no reason to upgrade though (unless you need the storage).

Should we take any bets on when we will see the first iPad Air 2 or Mini 3 being bent on YouTube?
