Apple has scheduled an event for March 9th. The invite, as shown below, reads 'Spring Forward'. The Apple Watch is supposed to launch in April. This event is likely all about the Apple Watch. That could mean one of two things.
  1. It's ready early. They managed expectations by saying April and they are ready to ship a month early.
  2. They want to get pre-orders up early and use the added window to educate customers on what is an entirely new product for Apple and consumers.
Hey, I'm just thrilled we've got an event during the first half of the year. Last year was entirely too quiet.

And this is most likely their stock is up today. Yesterday it was down almost 3% due to being sued again having to pay $553 million.

March 8th is Daylight Savings, "Spring Forward". Watches used to have springs.
