Was hoping the new ios update would have sorted the appalling streaming speed of Apple tv .. It hasn't!.. I tried to rent a movie 15 minutes ago.. It started by saying it would be ready to play in 3hours 4 minutes!.. It went down to 2hours 55 minutes.. Then back upto 3hours and 4 minutes.. This is despite Apple replacing my atv.. Awful

I have the same issue! 8hrs later I can watch the movie! I'm starting to think I will try downloading on my iPhone on 3G and see if it's quicker! Here is my speed test... No clue what any of these numbers mean..

those numbers are VERY low. Less than 1/2 a meg down. That's gonna be the culprit of Netflix taking forever and a day to stream a movie.

It is NOT your internet speed or provider. Go to Settings > General (keep hitting the menu button) and do the following:
. ensure send data to Apple is DISABLED
. stop any software update in progress

Your selection will then load in seconds. Typically some software update is multiplexing against your selection.

APPLE: Please fix this.
