iOS 10 and macOS Sierra have heretofore been limited to developers (at least officially). Starting today, anyone with an iPhone capable of running iOS 10 has Apple’s blessing to download, install, and help Apple’s developers find bugs so they can be fixed. So basically, it’s a group effort. Apple gets free assistance debugging their software, and you get a sense of pseudo-superiority because you’re the first of your friends to use the new OS. Win-win, sort of!

Devices capable of running iOS 10:
  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 5C
  • iPhone 5S
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6S
  • iPhone 6S Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod Touch (6th generation)
  • iPad (4th generation)
  • iPad Air (1 and 2)
  • iPad Mini (2, 3, and 4)
  • iPad Pro
