The S stood for Speed as we know it as. Does the C in this case stand for cost? In my opinion, they could come up with a better name to bring customers in to purchase it.

    Wasn't the "S" for Siri?

I'm referring to past iPhones, such as the iPhone 4S. I knew the S as Speed, and only that.

I'm referring to the 4s too. I think and thought that S was for Siri.

Whew.. My first response was, "Monkey?" But anyways, yeah. If you think about it there was also a 3GS. In my past experiences, to this day I tell people and suggest to them to not buy an iPhone with an S at the end of the name. Usually those do not have much of a difference. Minor fixes. They do add one difference/upgrade to convince buyers, but that's marketing for ya. They do that to make the cost higher. :p

According to a box of boxes, Apple will produce the iPhone 5C. :D

This sounds plausible. It's the iPhone 5, but with color.

I haven't done research yet, but if it is going to be a cheaper iPhone, is it going to be the iPhone 5 without a few features thereforee cheaper?

How is it an iPhone 5 if it looks nothing like a 5, has a cheap plastic casing instead of aluminum and likely has sub-par specs? Why even put 5 in the name? Oh yeah, because Apple's naming scheme makes no sense anymore. Carry on. :D

Exactly. I'm starting to wonder about Apple and their decision making. I know that they are a billion dollar+ corporation but nonetheless people start thinking before buying their updated products as they may not have been updated very much but to fix a few minor things.

They don't need an iPhone 5C (Cheap). They need an iPhone 5B (Big). That's where the demand is. They already have cheap iPhones to sell (4 and 4S).

Most definitely. My mother left the iPhone world due to calls dropping, but she went to a different cell phone with a bigger screen which she loves so much now.

LMAO @ 5b (for big)! MoneyMaker, precisely why I typed "Monkey" at first; the screen is so small! I. am. looking at the Nokia Lumia 920 for its screen size, vibrancy, audio & camera. My eyes, even with Rx reading glasses get blurry after looking at this small screen for a while. I play a lot of games and use FB a lot, and I need bigger !

RoofMonkey: I thought about the Mini iPad, but I don't want it if some of the phones are about the size of the mini.

The S stands for speed not Siri. Tim Cook said it himself :p

And just an FYI Siri wasn't around when the 3GS was released.

I remember Phil Schiller saying that the S in the 3GS stood for speed, but I don't think Apple ever said what it stood for on the 4S. That was just speculation. It could be speed, Siri, a way to keep the naming scheme consecutive or something else.
