Technically any modifications done to a product other then what the manufacture designed it to do will void the warranty. What is great about the iPhone is that it is hard to brick and can be easily restored back to factory specs.

well my iPhone was 1.1.2 otb and i was trying to jail break it with this guide http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=461 everything was going fine, i set up my wifi and everything, in step 22 it tells me to go to http.//jailbreakme.com so i click that and i get sent to a site, i scroll down and click install appsnapp and it looks like everything is going to install but then it just sends be back to the home screen.
