Just wondering if us naked iPhone users are ok. Lots of folks are reporting lots of problems, and sometimes it's unclear if they're using mod'd phones or not. I'm specifically concerned about people reporting BT and WiFi issues...

My iPhone is the 8GB locked, just normal deal. Not modded.

It was a great update that added a lot more than just the iTunes wifi store.

I have not had a single problem yet. However, I did just update an hour ago or so and am still discovering the new potential the device has.

Watch the video on Apple.com/iPhone for all details regarding the update.

I had no problems either - virgin phone here (and it's gonna stay that way).

Of course, it's too soon to report really... but so far so good.

Are your BT and WiFi functions working as normal? Those are the main things I'm concerned about at this point...

Yes, the update failed on my phone. Now I can neither update nor restore, and my phone doesn't work at all.

Same here. My iPhone has not been modified and the update failed
the restore also failed. It says " The iPhone 'iPhone'could not be restored. An
unknown error occurred (6)". Now my phone is in recovery mode and cannot
be restored... Help me:oops:

Restart your computer. This happened to me about two weeks ago. Once iTunes is open again, re-dock your phone. iTunes should say "iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode. Would you like to restore it?" Or something along those lines. If it does not say this, try clicking restore again.

Hope this helps.

I updated my unhacked unmodded iPhone and everything is working perfectly, bluetooth, wifi, everything.
Same here. Everything is good.

I understand people trying to unlock the potential of the iPhone, and thats all great, but I want to enjoy it without problems, and I want to be able to update it without having to jump through forty hoops while doing so. Don't mod.

I havn't had any iPhone problems to date. Before or after 1.1.1

When I got that message, I clicked yes and it started going through the restore process, and then I received the same message as the above poster.

Thanks for your help. I tried that process about 6 times with no luck.

If it continues to be a problem. Call Apple and ask to speak to an iPhone "SPECIALIST" make sure its a specialist, they'll help you fix your problem.

Worst case scenario your iPhone is defective, and needs to be exchanged.

Let me know! Post your progress..

Alright, I got my phone out of recovery mode.To get it out I did a restore
on a completely different computer(Vista laptop)then I plugged it back into
my desktop(XP) and used the iPhone back up files to bring it back to it's last state. But i still can't do a firmware update to 1.1.1.

Ok, restoring on a different computer worked. It restored and updated at the same time, so now I'm at 1.1.1 and working.

Its good to know that youre at least up and running.

What version of iTunes do you have? Have you updated that in awhile?

If none of the common sense stuff works out, your problem may be a
little more complicated. Don't be afraid to call Apple. They helped me
out big time with my initial iPhone issues.
