Um, I must be missing something here. Someone please enlighten me! What's the difference between AT&T's "Mobile Locate" app and iOS' built-in "Find My iPhone?"

What gives?!? They coulda used the money they spent on writing this Find My iPhone clone on improving their network instead?

Did I overlook something?

The cost to build an app like this, must be about $500. For the servers, about $2,000 yearly. That isn't going to improve the infrastructure, trust me. Maybe it would buy a cable to run from the tower base to halfway up a tower, I don't know.

"See a visual history of where your iPhone has been..." that has me wondering. They just got done removing their tracking software. But if YOU install it, well hey, they'll just save the data for you on their servers.

I agree with you--$500.00 all on its own won't rock the infrastructure's world... But $500 here, $500 there...etc.

I guess the $500 was burning a hole in some AT&T exec's pocket...
