After nine days, and total satisfaction with my new 3gs...I try to download a new app....*crash*
Apple is of no help...."change cords...reboot your computer....go to your local Apple dealer....go talk to the 18 year old kid at the ATT store....."
BS....After more than 2 hours of futzing around....I get a "bad Sim card" notice..and instructions to...come see the 18 year old kid at your local ATT store.....WTF?
So....I find a paperclip, poke it in the hole, and extract the SIM card....clean the card's contacts with an eraser, and pound...(oops...I mean "gently replace it"....)....and what do you know? The whole darned thing works....uh...except after restoring my iPhone, I have to reset all of my settings.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is this something that I need to learn to live with, or did I just have a f**king bad day in paradise?
