I have just started using a couple of sleep aid apps....White Noise and Sleep Pillow. To run 8 hours at night they use about 30% of the battery power. To avoid this battery drain I could just plug in my iPhone and then run the app for those 8 hours. In the long run is this likely to negatively impact battery life more than the increased frequency of charging that I am faced with if I don't plug in the iPhone at night to run these apps?

Those apps you use don't have a feature where there is a timed limit to make your iPhone sleep?

Leaving your phone plugged up throughout the night is harmful to the lithium ion battery. If you plug up your phone overnight, it will charge till its full, then run a little out, charge again, etc.

I would advise leaving it unplugged through the night, but charging it in full before doing so. If you're left with 70%, you should be able to make it the day, or at least until getting to plug it in again.
