I have some free time today and I REALLY want to get apps back on my iPhone. I've read a countless # of threads on the topic and it seems like the process might be getting "simple" enough for me to tackle. However, the "best" method seems to be a moving target.

So... who has a link for what they feel is the best process for Mac users right now?

BTW... I'm on 1.1.1/7.4.2. Phone hasn't been unlocked but did have installer on it previously. Restored before "upgrading" to 1.1.1.

You might have run across this guide already. But if not, here it is. Good luck!

Thanks... I have seen that link, and right now, it's the path I'm planning to take, unless there's a newer way to do it without the 1.0.2 downgrade. It seems like there is a path for that within windows, but not Mac?

update: Since I have a MacBook with Parallels running, I did the touchfree method in Windows and have installer.app now. woohoo! Now I just have to figure out how to install Summerboard.

YES! Summerboard installed.

For those running parallels, it's pretty handy to take advantage of both Windows and Mac, in this case.

I used the touchfree method here (via windows)

After that I downloaded Summerboard

I manually installed Summerboard using FuGu on the Mac with directions I found here (edit - pwd is alpine not dottie):
