I have heard a lot of good news about how Apple is taking care of the problems with the iPhone(ie: replacing defective ones) and i was wondering if they are only doing this for people who bought their iPhones at an Apple store? I'm going to purchase an iPhone in the next few days or so and i was wondering if i should drive all the way to an Apple store if its going to mean better service, which it would be worth it, but I'm not going to do that if it not needed.
Thanks

Get it at an Apple store. Take this from someone that has ZERO Apple stores in his state, and has heard many good things about people bringing their hardware back to the Apple store for service / repair.

Whether you buy it at the Apple store or not your going to have to go there if you need any repairs or for a problem with the phone. AT & T/Cingular will just say you need to go to Apple if you go there anyway, useless. Just buy it from Apple.

Thanks for the replies but has anyone who bought their iPhone at an AT&T store be able to get the same service at an Apple store as the people who bought their iPhone at an Apple store?

I *think* i saw one other post, by someone else, that claims that he had a problem with his phone, walked into an Apple store, and they just swapped it out, on the spot. Makes you believe they made PLENTY of these things to go around. lol

I bought my phone at an AT&T store and they told me I have to go to an Apple store for service. So I guess that means Apple will service the same whether you bought it there or AT&T. haven't gone yet so not sure.
