Hey,
i live in london and i really want to get an iPhone but if i get one from the US will it work in the U.K ?

Yes, it will work, but not with your carrier. The iPhone is locked to US carrier AT&T meaning that other SIM cards will not work.

Good news is that Europe is supposed to see the iPhone by the end of this year.

You may be able to do it shortly, like in the next few weeks as there is a company working to release a software package that will unlock the iPhone and allow it to work outside of the AT&T network... but... this sucks too because some of the features like the voicemail will probably not work. You might not have data services either... which makes the phone kind of useless.

are you sure guys ?

i thought u can ask when u buy the phone to make it usefull when using outside US ,,,, its something u cann add and pay for extra ?

am i wrong ? :oops:

Yes we are sure. You must activate the iPhone through AT&T and you must have a US address to do so.

Be patient, it will be released in Europe soon.
