Guys need some help regarding 3gs, i have never used ios. I am buying 3gs 16gb.
    1. How do I check before buying whether it's factory unlocked or not? Also how do I check the baseband and which baseband should I avoid?
    2. After jail breaking, can I visit the Apple app store from my mobile?
    3. When updating/changing firmware can I backup all my installed apps?
    4. Is it possible to roll back to ios 4 after trying ios5?
    5. If my phone is factory unlocked then I don't have to worry about phone getting locked when upgrading etc right?

    2. Yes
    3. Yes
    4. Yes, as long as you save your SHSH blobs before upgrading. Guides on that can be found on this site and around the web.

Someone else will have to help you with the rest.

Read on a eBay listing few weeks ago on an unlocked/jailbroken 3gs that updating, resetting, would lose the unlock. And you had to update with the jailbreak site nolonger iOS but I figure they keep up

Only thing iPhone is missing is an expandable memory port! Come on Apple give us a microSD port already!

My stepfather-in-law just got a 3gs, I think 8GB though, for free on his upgrade. He never spends over 50 for a phone lol
