From browsing the internet? I'm not even talking about porn sites, on my pc I get spyware just from normal browsing. Can this happen on an iPhone?

most forms of spyware and viruses are made to be malicous and harmful to computers, not iPhones. Apple was aware people had made malicous sites for iPhone users, that is what your first update did, it's protecting your iPhone from those certain sites. also known as "securtiy fixes"

Of course it can get a virus.

As someone else mentioned, the very first iPhone update was to patch security holes in Safari that could've let a bad guy take over the entire device.
