I have iPhone 1 with 2.2 on it, j/b. Now, what is the real diff between what I have and the 3g other than it being 3g? (which i can't get in my area) Just wanted to know before I extended my contract with AT&T by 2 years.

It has GPS, upgraded speakers, ... Umm, is there anything else? I feel like I'm missing some things... It has metal buttons, and a plastic back which is tapered, as I'm sure you knew.

no not yet. But there really isn't any real good reason to switch?

if none of the features mentioned matter to you, then no.

it may look fine to you, but there IS a difference, and that is what he/she was asking for.

No, 3g screens are yellower... Some say it's for the better, others say for the worse, but the fact remains.

I think with 3G speed, it's already good reason to upgrade.... :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:
Unless... you are in the area you don't get much of 3G signal....

Why do a new contract? If I were you I wouldn't do a new contract until I needed a new phone. You can stay with ATT and not be under a contract of some kind...I did this for awhile before upgrading last time.

...at least you have some leverage if a problem does arise and you no longer wish to use ATT.

yes, i definitely did notice that the screen does have a slightly yellowish tint when i first got my 3g, which i don't really mind and i think actually makes videos look better.

the main reason i upgraded to the 3g was that my v1's screen was messing up and ive been wanting it for a while. i REALLY like the black back cover on the 3g compared to the horrible (IMO) gray/black of the v1.

the headphone jack is a nice plus and so is the 3g when im in a 3g area. i didn't really care about the gps at first, but now im kinda glad i have it.

but, the one thing that makes me the most glad that i switched was that the battery on my 3g is like 2-3x times better than my old phone. probably due to the battery being worn out, but still. its 3:10pm now, my battery is slightly less than 50% AND I haven't CHARGED IT SINCE YESTERDAY MORNING :cool::cool:
