Ive been trying to jailbreak my 4S since saturday using absinthe (windows) with no luck, it keeps crashing at the "sending data" part, I heard that it if wipe the iPhone and start fresh it will jailbreak it, but can I rstore my backup using my icloud while jailbroken? I just wanna be sure first.

Any other tips using absinthe on windows? ALWAYS crashes...

    Yes, that's fine.

You don't have a passcode set, do you? That can stop the jailbreak from completing.

I actually couldnt get the jailbreak to work without wiping it clean first. After wiping, the jailbreak worked on the 1st try.

Yes! Thats what I did. I didn't want to set up everything from scratch.

After you wipe your phone, just go through the set up real quick and say its a new phone. Then jailbreak. When you are jailbroken, restore from your latest backup.

Nice! Right! Restore from backup and off you go like nothing ever happened. Except you have Cydia now. :)

Ah ok I thought if I restored it using the "restore all settings and media" one it would delete cydia.

You're doing it through iTunes right? Right click on your iPhone in the left panel and click "restore from backup".

Unfortunately I am not familiar with restoring from the cloud. Give it a while. It may take some time.
