If you did a manual backup via iTunes, then that's where the backup is stored.

You just type Address Book in the search bar on a Mac and it pulls up your contacts. If you have a Windows computer, let us know if it's XP, Vista or Windows 7 and we'll tell you how to open them.

You can tell if you're syncing to iCloud or to the computer by checking in iTunes. It also tells you when it was last backed up. Look here:

It tells me that when it's due another backup, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't let me click back up to iCloud! I don't know why! In the next box in the same screen below that there was smaller boxes to check about pictures ect,I didn't tick none of them! I really didn't want to mess it up!

In settings, iCloud, storage & backup, manage storage. Click on the device and it will tell you when it was backed up. Did this on my phone & selected my IPad 3

Did you backup using iTunes? Europa posted how to check iTunes to see if your backing up to the cloud or not. If your using iCloud, Check the iCloud backup settings on your phone and look at documents & Data. I had a problem that it was backing up every app and would take forever, if it would even finish it. I unselected a number of apps and even my photo roll. Backs up pretty quick now.

if your using the app, when you reply to the thread, see the grey bat just above the keyboard? Says open advanced options. Tap on that, click photo album and select the photo you want to attach.

In your iCloud backup on your phone, set documents & data to off and try it again. Could also be a very large photo roll that is causing it to time out. Process of elimination time I guess.
