A bummer for V1 owners, but maybe they are gearing up for 3g? Im just glad that I got mine done when I did!

Even if they removed it for 3G, why would they? There are still plently of V1 users and soon to be users (ebay). Im sure some of those customers wouldve wanted to...

I feel the same way! However, it does make sense (for them). Technically v1 isn't a "current" cell phone, and they don't do any of the other phones they used to do a year ago when the iPhone came out anymore either. I feel like the iPhone should be in a different category though, I just got my 16 gig less than 6 months ago. It was "new" then. I was definitely surprised.
