Everytime I place my iPhone in the dock, my computer speakers go crazy. And then it occurs randomly as long as the phone is near the speakers...you know what I'm talking about.

I know it's because of the frequency GSM uses on AT&T interfering with the speakers. This is very annoying.

Is there anything that can be done about this? I do not turn on my speakers now unless I really need them or just use the macbook pro speakers which do not make any static noise from the phone being near them.

One of the most annoying things about switching from Verizon to AT&T.

Agreed. This drives me absolutely crazy. I ended up removing my computer speakers at work only to have my built in tower speaker hum all day.

LOL its the GSM it will do it in your car too if your radio antenna is close to the phone. Just move your phone away from the speakers. It is not just the iPhone its most phones when they transmit for receive data.
