Yesterday I was stupid enough to download a dubious software package and got a virus trojan ****tail. Mcafee could most of them but the damage is done and most functions on the computer are not usable. I have to format and re-install windows. How can I un-sync my iPhone so that when I re-install windows, I can sync with the new setup. Should I expect to lose everything on my iPhone? This sucks balls. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I tried the microsoft thing. Did not work. What do you mean exactly, back up iTunes? I am not a computer novice but I am an Apple and iTunes novice. Will I just be able to format a d reconnect my phone and say that this is the computer that I want to use as my main computer now? I don't understand how this process will work :(. I bet all my apps will be gone too..
