Ok I was just curious to see if anyone knows the answer to this.

I understand you have to sign up for a 2 year contract in order to get an iPhone. Now if you break your iPhone and have to purchase another one do you have to redo your contract to set the new phone up?

unfortunately YES, i just activate a new iPhone 2 days ago, and they extended my contract to Oct, it was suppose to be July. That's really not fair at all.

When you sign up for the iPhone, yes you do sign a 2 year commitment. If you break the phone within that 2 years, you will have to purchase a phone at an outright price which is rather expensive because at that point you are STILL under a 2 year contract, unless you have a phone lying around that takes a SIM card/Smart Chip.
