    Hey everyone,

I still have the Verizon iPhone 4 which cannot be unlocked.

I heard the Verizon iPhone 5 is already unlocked, and if I want to try AT&T then all is required is an AT&T nano SIM card for the iPhone 5? Am I right? Does that mean if the person already has a Verizon iPhone 5, and they could either wait until the contract is up, or pay the ETF, and they could open up a brand new account with carriers such as AT&T, or T-mobile? Or it doesn't work like that?

    Thank you,

Would someone be replying to this thread? Or would my thread be going unanswered?

Please don't bump your thread. It's considered poor forum etiquette. Thanks.

That is correct. It is sold unlocked for GSM networks and it will work on AT&T, T-Mobile and all other worldwide GSM networks if you have a SIM card for them. The downside is that it will not work on LTE for many carriers, including AT&T. You'll be limited to 4G HSPA+ with AT&T when you use a Verizon iPhone 5.

If you cancel your Verizon account prior to the end of the contract, you'll have to pay the prorated ETF.
