So my daughter was passing my iPad to me and it slipped and hit the coffee table....
Cracks all over
Been searching the Internet trying to figure out what Apple will charge me
Seems like 200 for a screen or 370 to swap it for a new unit
Does this sound right?
It's a 32g wifi

It's too late at night to call anyone
There is a company 30 min away that does replace screens for Apple products but not sure about aftermarket glass?

Appreciate any help

Apple replaces/repairs the iPhone 4 glass once for free. I've heard they often do this with the iPad 2 as well. If it happens again, it's $200. Just call the Genius bar in the morning and make an appointment. Good luck with a free replacement! :)

I have an appt tomorrow evening. We'll see what happens
I'm not positive it will end up inexpensive

The local third party iPod/iPhone/iPad repair company wants 275 to repair the screen

if you feel confident to do the job yourself, directfix.com has parts and repair video tutorials on a range of phones and the ipad. hope this helps.

Given that the wifi antenna is glued to the glass itself, sounds risky
I paid the 300
That's a shame especially at this time of year.

I would have thought Apple would have had a little compassion and a big fat Christmas present for you. Steve wouldn't be happy I'm thinking. Bah. Humbug.

One of my friends has successfuly changed the screen on his IPad and although he said it was not easy it was possible.
