Can anyone tell me why after after updating my iPad 1 to 5.1.1 ,that some of the apps go for a few mins and then crash. They worked fine until I did the update.

Maybe the device is low on memory. Reset your ipad.

Reboot your iPad. If certain apps continue to crash, delete and reinstall them.

I have the first iPad, and whenever I go IMO websites, after a few seconds it just closes the website and goes back to the main screen. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what you're saying at first. Any website you go to, a few seconds later it closes the browser? What browser are you using?

I am using the Safari browser that came with the iPad . It doesn't happen with email, just on websites. All of a sudden, they close, and it goes back to my main screen.

I see. Have you performed any of the normal steps to resolve this yet? One step is a hard reset where you hold both the lock button and home button at the same time until the device shuts down and then the Apple logo appears.

This is a good idea. A hard reset can cure a multitude of woes.

Most definitely! I've used it many times for my iPhone actually. The littlest of an issue, and like magic it's fixed by doing a hard reset that takes less than 30 seconds.

I've found that quite a few iPhone and iPad users aren't aware of the hard reset. It's not that they're stupid at all, but a little bigger, printed user manual would be nice.

I agree with you 100%. Every time I get a new iPhone, it comes with the small manual thing. I've never read it, but as a businesss student, why is it not bigger, like a car manual size? A book.

If Safari starts crashing again after doing a hard reset, go to Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data. Rebooting your iPad daily and not keeping very many tabs open should help to prevent this.
