How long is everyone waiting for activation of their iPhones?

I know there was a 48 hour delay over the weekend. Are we still experiencing big delays? I've had my new iPhone waiting for about 9 hours now and was wondering how long I need to wait before starting to look for problems.

Mine took about 28 hours to activate. I was still able to use my 3GS while I was waiting for it to activate because I had a 3G SIM card I could use in the 3GS temporarily. That was on release day though. I would guess they'll go through faster now. I heard Apple is giving away $30 iTunes gift cards for those who experienced activation delays. I didn't get the apology email though (possibly because I had a 3G and they know you can still use the old phone while waiting).

The delays now probably aren't bad at all, nothing compared to the release weekend. I only ever used my 3G sim since I used someones upgrade and just gave them the sim for when theirs became inactive. It was activated sometime sunday cause that's when they lost service on the old sim card. I got the $30 gift card even though I used my iPhone 3G's sim so it only depended on how long you waited. In the email it said for those who waited longer than 48 hours and they were working on fixing the issue. So by now I am sure those issues have been addressed in addition the the decrease in activations compared to the release weekend.

I gotta ask, have you powered your phone off then back on again yet? I activated on the day of release and had no problems at all! I turned my phone off right after syncing, and when I powered it back on I was activated. Total wait time, about 5 minutes. Maybe I was just lucky...

Mine didn't activate automatically on Monday when I got it... I read some posts to call the number listed on the activation material enclosed with the phone... So I did... got some message about agreeing to a contract and I agreed/followed through the automated prompts then it said it was going to transfer me to a rep to complete activation...I spent about 30 min on hold... tech support couldnt activate it and had to get an activation specialist... it was definitely more trouble than it should have been... I'm sure it will get better but it wasn't automatic when I did it through iTunes...just stuck on "waiting for activation" message on iPhone...

On a side note I activated a 3G on tuesday through iTunes and it went right through immediately, so they have some kind of additional check/procedure for the 3gs activation.... sucky.

I've the tried power off - resetting the phone. No go. It's been about 20 hours now. I'll just try calling. There have been problems from day one with this order so I naturally assume activation is not going to be easy either.

I was right, it took five reps to find and fix the problem. Missing information all over the account. It looks like ATT's system never populated even the most simple info, let alone things like the imei number. All activated now.
