I have the iPhone 3GS and it's recently become slower and less responsive. I've read that deleting the cache helps with this problem but when I go into 'settings' then 'safari' it has options 'clear history and 'clear cookies and data' but no 'clear cache' as its suggested on forums and websites. Help!?!

May be talking about the "other" cache on the idevice's memory.
Plug it into iTunes, select it on the left menu options.
At the bottom of iTunes window it will give details about memory usage.
"Other" should be no more than 2GB.....

Apple got rid of clear cache a software version or two ago. So clearing cookies and history is ok. There is a free app in the app store, called "system" and it has a button that frees up the ram. It'll also exit the program too. Give it a shot if you're not jailbroken.
