My new car has an outlet to hook up the ipod. I want to connect my iPhone to it and was getting this "http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=4AA97099&nplm=TN778LL/A"

It says it connects to an iPhone. My question though is do I need to buy the small adaptar? These say 3.55mm, but I have no idea what size is needed for my iPhone.

Thanks,
Most mini plug devices and cables will not fit the iPhone because the jack is in-set. The adapter does not change the size of the jack. It just has a very narrow barrel so it will fit 'down' in to the iPhone. It basically moves the jack above the phone so you can plug what ever in to it.

The iPhone plug is 3.5mm. That cable should work as long as the plug in your stereo is also 3.5mm. They ususually are. Just to make sure you can try to plug in your headphones you got with your iPhone into the plug in your stereo. If it fits then it's a 3.5mm plug.
