Do you wish there was an easier way to clear all text?

Select all - cut/backspace is a hassle. On my 5 year old Razr if you held down the backspace button it began deleting whole words at a time (like iOS) but eventually cleared everything. While I don't particularly like this method it would be nice to have a quicker way of clearing all text, such as maybe activating caps lock and then hitting backspace. Any thoughts?

I like it like this, I don't want to accidentally delete the whole thing.

I agree that's why I suggested the caps lock option it would be almost impossible to hit that combo accidentally. Also, in what will be another thread they need am undo/repeat function

I really don't think this a hassle, and it clears the entire body of a text:

Tap a word > choose "Select All" > press the backspace button once.

I don't think this a hassle at all and it clears the entire body of a text: tap a word > choose "Select All" > press the backspace button once.
Now Mindi that requires one more tap than suggested by the op. let's not be unreasonable. :p

Not necessarily, in fact most of the time it takes a few taps to get the "select/select all/paste" menu

Yeah, you're right, sometimes it takes two taps.

It works fine for me the first time.

Haha, ya I'm not sure why but it often either doesn't respond the first few times or highlights a word

A shift slide delete would do this nicely.

[cough] [cough] Apple staff, copy and paste to feature requests please.
