I am on my fourth iPhone and I'm having a problem with syncing with iTunes that I never had with the previous phones. What it is is whenever I sync it, AT&T has to "validate" the phone and it says it'll take a minute, and then I can access syncing preferences. That has never happened before and I don't have a problem with it EXCEPT sometimes it says AT&T is down and I should try again later if I want to put new music on the phone. Also, if the Internet is down, it won't sync. Someone please tell me if I need to change a preference or something. Thank you for reading this.

I have seen that before- but only when the phone was downgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1
Try restoring and see if that helps
