I just got an iPhone, but I noticed that there isn't an app to be able to send sms from my laptop!

I've already got PDAnet on my phone to be able to use the iPhone's internet connection, but does anyone know of one to send SMS through my iPhone from my laptop?

Thanks,

Jacqui :laugh2:

I used to use SMSgee to send SMS with my LG KU990, which worked very well, but because there's no COM port, I wasn't able to still do it :(

You can do it through ATT's website. Just log in and there's a thing that says send texts messages or something like that.

I use MMS lite, it's free, also Photomailer which can send 5 photos at once, I think it costs a couple of dollars I can't remember.

If your Jailbroken..

Install Veency- through Cydia

Download a program similar to Chicken of the VNC on your mac/pc and you can connect the iPhone to your mac/pc. Your screen then pops up in a window. It's actually quite smart.

You can leave your phone downstairs and text away via your iPhone but through your laptop/desktop

It's really easy to do. You have to be jailbroken though :)

I use OneSMS. It is free, easy to use and you don't need to jailbreak your iPhone. Simple download from AppStore.

MS Outlook 2010 has a SMS functionality built into it.
It appears as an option on the same dialog box used to add an email account.
Sorry but I have not used it so I cant give any more info on how it works.

I think just about any email client will let you send a txt as an email,
Such as the persons phone numer@Txt.Att.net

We use this at work all the time.
Sent from my iPhone using iCafe app

I am surprised no one has mentioned Google Voice yet. If you have a Gmail account, you can sign up for a google voice account and send sms through it on the pc or even on the phone with the google voice app

But like this guy said, you don't need an app, just enter the txt email address. You can google all the providers to find out what they are.

If that is an app for an iDevice, that doesn't answer the OP's question, which is how to send an SMS message from a PC.

I know there is an 'app' that will do this if your device is jail broken.

There are apps that send from your iDevice even if it's not jailbroken. Still doesn't answer the OP's question.

1.Backup all text messages to computer;

2.Save text messages as CSV file

3.Print out sms from mobile phone

4.send sms using computer to iphone device

That is SMS Messages Software.

I know Android had some stuff for this. If Google Voice lets you do it though that'd be handy since I'm meant to be getting that setup for work.
