Well my question is simple, does iTunes need to have an internet connection to be able to download and update to a newer firmware an iPhone?

I mean, if I plug my iPhone to a computer that does not have an internet connection will iTunes still be able to update to a new firmware? Or is it needed to have an internet connection in order to update the firmware on the iPhone?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

If you have not previously downloaded the update, then yes you will need to be connected to the internet.

Just turn off the auto-update in iTunes and don't worry about it.

How to turn off the auto-update?

Could you help me find where to turn the auto-update off so i wont have problems everytime I plug my iPhone to my pc, cause I'm worried that iTunes will auto-update my iPhone to the 1.1.1 firmware and I obviously don't want that to happen.

Thanks

In iTunes to go the menu bar. Edit>preferences> then uncheck the box "Check for updates automatically"
