Does the 2 year contract lock you into the data plan also?

Here's my question. For irrelevant reasons I want to buy a 3G iPhone but I may, before the 2 year contract expires, end up switching to a regular cellphone. If I do that I know I'm still locked in for 2 years but will I be able to removde the data plan and just have voice while still within the contract period?

All other AT&T contracts don't lock you into voice and data but im not sure with the new iPhones. Most likely, itll be like the rest of their contracts.

You are more than likely only locked into data as long as the SIM is being used by a iPhone.

I've read both answers from various sites. Not sure I've seen anything on AT&T's site though.

I lost my iPhone in May & cancelled the data plan without any problems.
