... To download a free copy of the 12 days of Christmas app in the app store! Then stay tuned for a free gift from Apple every day.. from the 26th of December through the 6th of January! First time offered in the USA. Could be music, movies, apps, books, etc. Sounds like fun to me, 15 days to go!

My first gift wasn't any big surprise. About what I expected. Still chaps my hide though. Can't wait til tomorrow to see what other garbage iTunes will have for me. 2 songs, 2 music videos. I downloaded them for the heck of it. But will delete. I'm not wasting space on my phone for Justin Timberlake.

You better brace yourself. Things could get worse. And they probably will. What if they toss in some Beyoncé in there? Maybe as a final, "grand prize" gift we might get that album that she recently launched on iTunes. It would be a great marketing stunt.

Yeah, and not just the music. Dumb game apps that'll be 300 mb, romance novel books and corny movies I won't have space for on my 16 gb phone.

Still not impressed with the iTunes 12 days of Gifts. My 2nd gift is the first pilot episode of Once Upon A Time. And they want $24.99 for it? That's a gift? NOPE!

The 24.99 is for the season. You do get the pilot episode for free you just have to go into iTunes for it.

Uh...they ARE free.

Beggars can't be choosers. The selection are probably based on the most searched artists, higher rated or highly downloaded apps or app developers.

If you agree to give away potentially thousands or even millions of your intellectual property via iTunes, there must be some delayed comp. from Apple for your 'generosity'.

Was surprised when I checked my iPhone I had a completely different gift. I wasn't expecting my day 2 to be a completely different than the one that shows on my iPad. This one on my iPhone app was a game. And I'll admit it's pretty awesome. Been playing it for a little while this morning.

Yes, you're right. And most will be more appealing to the younger folks, especially the music. I've got 10 more coming. Maybe there will be something there a 61 year old like me will enjoy. I had already seen the pilot episode anyway.

It is a nice game. It's free in the App Store for a limited time.

It didn't occur to me that different items may be available on different devices. My daughter dais she got tiny thief for day 2. I got the once upon a time pilot. I'll have to ask her if she was using her iPhone 4S or her iPad 2.

For day 3, I got some travelers book on both my iPad and iPhone 5s.
