Email connectivity issue

I am currently in Ocean City, NJ. I am using a version 1 iPhone. I have a strong signal. Phone works fine, but I cannot get email (on 2 different accounts which are working fine on laptop). I can connect to internet apps, e.g., AOL Radio, Pandora and Bloomberg. I can open webpages, although they are slow. When I try to connect to email, it shows "connecting", but does not connect. I just tried connecting to WiFi and it still won't get mail. My daughters iPhone is having same problem. Could this be an issue related to the location? Everything except email working fine.

Try holding the home button when you are in the mail program. Hold it until it force closes the application. Then reopen it and try to fetch your mail again.

Have you updated to the 2.0 software? if so go to settings, general, reset, reset network settings.

When i updated to 2.0 i couldnt get my mail until i did that, Hope it helps
